The Liechtenstein School of Music opened its doors in April 1963. The School of Music is headquartered in the house in Vaduz where the composer Josef Gabriel Rheinberger (1839 – 1901) was born.
The Liechtenstein Music School is an open and creative place of education and encounter. With more than 2,600 students, it is the largest educational institution in Liechtenstein and is open to all age groups. It is actively involved in the cultural life of the region and promotes musical diversity.
The Liechtenstein Music School offers students individualized, multifaceted, and modern instruction. Group courses for children are offered as well as instruction in all the usual instruments, voice, and theory.
The Liechtenstein Music School presents itself to the public with about 200 events each year. Auditions, teachers' concerts, stage performances, musical comedies, and concerts in all styles of music enrich Liechtenstein's cultural calendar throughout the year. Annual highlights include the International Master Courses, the "Making Music in Liechtenstein" competition, and the Teachers' Concert.
