The National Archives
secure the records
of the State authorities of the Principality of Liechtenstein, to the extent these documents are of
lasting value for the research of Liechtenstein history, the safeguarding of civil rights, or as information
on legislation, administration, or jurisprudence. The National Archives also preserve unpublished works
of important individuals and documents of parishes, clubs, and associations. In addition, the National
Archives collect film, recordings, pictures, press excerpts, and copies or duplicates in other archives,
if such documents relate to Liechtenstein. It is the
responsibility
of the National Archives to decide on the lasting value of documents, to organize them and make them
accessible as appropriate, and to secure them in the long term. Information is provided on the content
of the archives. The inventory of the National Archives
may be used by everyone. In accordance with the Archives Act, most documents are subject to a waiting
period of 30 or 80 years. |
