Liechtenstein has a number of filmmakers and production companies that have been able to establish themselves in the art of film.

With respect to cinema, the Frohsinn Film Club in the TaKino in Schaan deserves particular mention. It organizes up to 300 performances annually, with a wide range of program focuses. Of particular interest is European auteur cinema, Swiss film, films from Latin America, Africa, and Asia, and American independent films. An Open Air Cinema is presented each summer in Vaduz.

The 11th film festival Vaduz takes place between July 14 - 30, 2006.
