Densely forested Rhine valley mountainside with many forest animal species

Slope forests characterize the transition area from valley to mountain. Deer, foxes, and badgers live here, from the valley to high up on the slope. In these mid-range altitudes, you can hear the black woodpecker and even the rare white-backed woodpecker, and owls still nest. Where there are forests close to nature with a lot of dead wood, for example in the Schlosswald above Vaduz, the stag beetle, our largest longhorn beetle, can develop, and even the rare European longhorn beetle can be found.
