The funding of the promotion of sports with public means is implemented through the national budget in the following main areas: school sports, Youth + Sport, popular sports, competitive and elite sports, doping prevention, and via the umbrella organization of the sports associations (LOSV). In addition, State subsidies support (large) projects for improving the infrastructure available for sports.

Financial development of the promotion of sports
As part of these improvements, the financial means made available for sports have been increased. Overall, sports were supported with about 3.2 million Swiss francs in 2002. In addition, various projects to improve sports infrastructure have been realized, such as the Rhine Park Stadium in Vaduz and the track and field facility in Schaan, thanks to funding by the State and the municipalities.
