With the entry into force of the Sports Act on 1 April 2000, the
previous "Office for Youth and Sports" was renamed "Sports Office". It supports
the Government in all questions and areas relating to sports. In order to administer ongoing affairs,
the Government can make the Sports Commission available to work together with the Sports Office. The
Sports Office is the administrative office of the Government Sports Commission and, in this role, is
responsible for implementing the "Youth + Sport" program. In addition, it supports the Elite
Sports Committee as a communications partner and contact point for clubs and athletes. The Sports Office
reports to the Ministry of Sport and holds an ex officio seat in the Sports Commission. As the administrative
office of the Sports Commission, and in close cooperation with the Commission, it is an important communications
partner for sports under public law. Sports
