Financial services represent an important, albeit not the largest economic sector in the Liechtenstein national economy. About 15% of the workforce in Liechtenstein is employed in the financial services sector. Because of the high added value of this economic sector, workers in the financial service sector contribute about 30% to Liechtenstein's gross domestic product. In particular, the Liechtenstein financial center is home to:

• 47 Liechtenstein insurance undertakings
• 27 fund management companies with approx. 360 investment funds
• 163 investment companies
