| The main goal of Liechtenstein economic policy is the maintenance and expansion of
a favorable environment for entrepreneurial activities. This is seen as the best foundation for favorable
locational conditions. Actual economic subsidies only exist for agriculture. Other sectors must prove
themselves in the market. The volume of the Liechtenstein budget is too small to achieve much through
financial support. There are therefore no subsidies in any of the possible variations, including export
subsidies. The success of the Liechtenstein economy, including the particular success of its globally
exporting industry, demonstrates that this concept cannot be entirely wrong. Liechtenstein views favorable
and stable conditions for economic activity and market rewards for performance as the best form of subsidy. |
