Mandate and services

The purpose of the Liechtenstein Investment Fund Association (LAFV), Vaduz, is to promote and develop the idea of fund management and to represent and safeguard the interests of the Liechtenstein investment fund management sector at home and abroad, without itself engaging in any commercial activity.

The Association commits itself to realizing this purpose in the interest of its members through:

  • coordinated cooperation with the Financial Services Authority,
  • active and sustainable progressive development of the legislative framework in line with the needs of the fund management sector, in cooperation with the relevant authorities and professional associations of the financial services sector,
  • providing information to its members on innovations and changes,
  • representation and presentation of the Liechtenstein fund management center at the national and international level,
  • cultivating morale and ethics in the fund management sector, and
  • establishing and maintaining relations with existing associations and interest groups of the financial services sector, in order to help coordinate overarching interests and take advantage of synergies
Areas of work

At the beginning of September 2000, all investment companies registered in Liechtenstein founded an interest organization. LAFV is an Association under private law domiciled in Vaduz. All investment companies domiciled in Liechtenstein are members of LAFV. The member list with contact persons, addresses and contact information is available at http://www.lafv.li .

The highest organ is the General Assembly, which usually meets once a year. LAFV is represented by its Board, which consists of four persons.

Facts and figures

Since 1996, the Liechtenstein fund management center has steadily developed and expanded. All investment companies licensed according to the Investment Companies Act can be accessed at www.lafv.li .
