The Liechtenstein Employees Association is an association under
private law domiciled in Triesen. The only union in Liechtenstein was founded as the Liechtenstein Workers’
Association in 1920 with the goal of advocating for an improvement of the uncertain salary and working
conditions after the First World War. Today, LANV has over 1,300 members and, due to the lack of a Liechtenstein
“Chamber of Labor”, also represents the interests of non-members to a limited extent. The
highest organ is the Assembly of Delegates, which meets annually. The Central Board meets at least four
times a year. It is composed of the chairpersons of the individual sections and the Administration.
The five-member Administration, which also includes staff members of the Business Office, meets monthly
to discuss the affairs of the Association and the work of the Business Office. Representatives of employees
in industrial and financial service businesses meet regularly at the LANV Business Office to exchange
experiences and to discuss current developments. In various bodies of Liechtenstein institutions, LANV
members represent the interests of employees as well as of economically and socially disadvantaged groups. |
