For international transactions, the Government Chancellery legalizes
signatures of officials of the National Administration and the courts with signing authority, as well
as signatures of municipal mayors and mediators. The type of legalization necessary (apostille
or superlegalization) depends on the country in which the document is to be recognized.
In
the case of superlegalization, the Embassy in Berne is responsible for obtaining the additional legalizations
by the Swiss Federal Chancellery (if necessary) and by the responsible consulate of the country in which
the document is to be recognized. The Embassy charges an administrative fee of 40-80
Swiss francs (depending on the effort required) for obtaining legalizations. In addition, the fees required
by the Swiss Federal Chancellery and the consulates will be charged on delivery. www.rk.llv.li
