Federal Councillor Leuenberger visits Liechtenstein

Vaduz, 6 May - Swiss Federal Councillor Moritz Leuenberger, Minister for the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (ETEC), met with Deputy Prime Minister Rita Kieber-Beck for a working visit in Liechtenstein on 6 May 2004. The visit also included a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Otmar Hasler and a reception hosted by Reigning Prince Hans-Adam II and Hereditary Prince Alois. The talks took place in the context of a friendly neighborly dialogue and dealt with topics in the areas of transport and communications.

"For many years, Switzerland and Liechtenstein have maintained very close relations. Today’s working visit also took place in an open and constructive climate. For this, I would like to thank Federal Councillor Leuenberger," Rita Kieber-Beck, Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, stated.

Federal Councillor Leuenberger, who has visited Liechtenstein once before, reciprocated this gratitude and emphasized the open and unproblematic relationship between Switzerland and Liechtenstein. He added that he always enjoys coming to Liechtenstein.

After the working visit with Deputy Prime Minister Kieber-Beck, Federal Councillor Leuenberger paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Otmar Hasler. In the afternoon, Prince Hans-Adam II and Hereditary Prince Alois gave a reception at Vaduz Castle.
