1. How do you get to Liechtenstein? Does Liechtenstein have an airport?
Answer: The Principality of Liechtenstein is located in the heart of Europe. It is situated between Switzerland and Austria on the classical north-south route leading from Lake Constance via Chur to Italy. For the Principality of Liechtenstein the same immigration rules apply as for Switzerland. Distances: Zurich 110 km, Geneva 400 km, Munich 250 km, Frankfurt 550 km, Vienna 670 km, Milan 300 km.
The Liechtenstein bus network is very well developed and very inexpensive. There are good bus connections from the Sargans, Buchs/SG, and Feldkirch train stations to all municipalities in the Principality of Liechtenstein.
A sticker is required to use the motorways in Switzerland and Austria. There are no customs between Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein.
The nearest airports are: Zurich-Kloten 115 km, Altenrhein 50 km, and Friedrichshafen 85 km. Liechtenstein does not have its own airport.

3. What is Liechtenstein cuisine?
Answer: The influence of nearby countries has given Liechtenstein an extraordinarily opulent and diverse cuisine. In Liechtenstein, you will enjoy a high-quality and international selection of dishes. Both gourmet restaurants and cozy local hangouts offer numerous specialties. Recipe for käsknöpfle (tiny cheese dumplings): 4 servings:
300 grams flour 1-1/2 teaspoons salt 3 eggs 15 ml water 1 large onion 150 grams mixed grated cheeses (use sharp cheese such as Gruyere, mild cheese such as Emmental and, if possible, add sour cheese)
Preparation: Place flour and salt in a mixing bowl. Mix eggs and water in a separate bowl and then add to the dry ingredients. Mix until bubbles rise in the batter. The batter is the correct consistency when it is thick. Cover the batter with a cloth and let stand for approx. 30 minutes.
Bring salted water to a boil in a large pot. Drop small bits of the batter into the simmering water or put through a sliding cutter or colander. When the dumplings come to the surface, remove and drain them with a sieve. Place them on a plate and mix with the grated cheese. Garnish the cheese dumplings with toasted onions and serve with salad or applesauce.
Recipe for ribel (traditional semolina dish): 4 servings:
500 grams ribel corn 3 dl milk 3 dl water 1 level tablespoon salt rapeseed oil 25 - 50 grams butter
Preparation: Bring milk, water and salt to a boil, then add ribel corn. Soak covered for at least 3 hours. Heat rapeseed oil in a frying pan, add the ribel corn, cook on medium heat stirring frequently. Let stand covered for a few minutes from time to time, so that the ribel remains moist. Gradually add butter and continue to cook for approximately 20 more minutes or until golden brown crumbs form. Sprinkle the ribel with sugar and serve with coffee and fruit compote.

Answer: Vaduz Castle, Gutenberg Fortress, the Red House, Schellenberg ruins, etc. Liechtenstein’s history is documented in many buildings. Guided tours will give you worthwhile information on the historical sights of the country.

Answer: Vaduz Castle is the residence of the Princely Family and is not open to the public.

Answer: The art collection of the Prince of Liechtenstein, which has grown over four centuries, is one of the most significant private collections in the world. The Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein (Museum of Fine Arts) presents selected objects from the Princely Collection in thematic rotating exhibitions.

Answer: The winter in Liechtenstein belongs to Malbun-Steg. Here, at a healthy 1600 meters (5250 feet) above sea level, families and connoisseurs will find what they deserve: recreation. Everything is possible here, from Alpine skiing and snowboarding to cross-country skiing and ski tours.

9. How important are sports and culture in Liechtenstein?
Answer: Sports and culture are very important in Liechtenstein and are generously supported by the State. Liechtenstein’s culture and sports are both characterized by a vibrant club life. 15,000 Liechtenstein inhabitants are members of a sports club. This corresponds to 45% of the population. Every 240th Liechtenstein inhabitant is president of a sports club. A similar number of inhabitants are active in the numerous cultural associations.
