Ministry of Construction and Public Works

The Ministry of Construction and Public Works ensures that the State and its citizens have the requisite road infrastructure and administrative buildings at their disposal, which constitute a foundation for successful business activities and which require the prudent use of resources.

The construction of new administrative buildings responds to the exigencies of an objectively demonstrated need. At the same time, the construction of new buildings and the renovation and restoration of existing buildings should enable energy-efficient operations and maintenance through appropriate conception and realization.

The construction and maintenance of roads is substantially responsible for increasing the safety of pedestrians and cyclists by way of appropriate construction measures and for ensuring smooth road traffic.

By purchasing land in a targeted and forward-looking manner, the Ministry of Construction and Public Works creates the conditions for the availability of land reserves needed in the future for the aforementioned measures.

In the area of construction law, applications for construction are reviewed and licenses are granted. Particular attention is paid to fire prevention and the energy and ecological requirements applicable to individual buildings and facilities. Moreover, the Ministry of Construction and Public Works enforces construction laws and regulations.
