This
covers a broad, multilayered spectrum of areas relevant to health policy, encompassing extremely dynamic
developments. This results in a continuous process of adaptation and optimization that reflects the
social and international developments. Liechtenstein's
system of public
health is very well-developed. A representative survey conducted in July 2006 showed that nearly 90%
of all respondents are satisfied or very satisfied with medical services in Liechtenstein. The
basic supply of health services to the population is guaranteed by a large number of outpatient service
providers, the Liechtenstein National Hospital, and foreign hospitals under contract. The
health insurance system is similar to that of Switzerland and provides for mandatory coverage. Prevention
also plays a very important role in the public health system. |
