Ministry of General Government Affairs 

The Ministry of General Government Affairs is assigned to the Prime Minister ex officio. The material scope of responsibility of the Ministry of General Government Affairs is broad and encompasses, in particular, the following important political areas: the Constitution, organization of the Government and Administration, personnel law, information activities of the State, public procurement, EEA coordination, immigration law, liberal professions, administration of justice, and church and State. The Office of Future Trends is also assigned to the Ministry of General Government Affairs.

Liechtenstein has a modern and effective Administration. The goal of the Ministry of General Government Affairs is to further enhance the efficiency of the Administration and to ensure that its services respond even more strongly to the needs of the population and the economy.

The Ministry of General Government Affairs is committed to an active and transparent information policy. Its information policy is carried out according to the principles of timeliness, appropriateness, and fair balance.

Liechtenstein does not recognize unrestricted free movement of persons across national borders. The limited number of residence permits is granted on a non-discriminatory basis. The integration of foreigners with permanent residence in Liechtenstein is a central concern of the Government’s policy on foreigners.

The responsibilities of the Ministry of General Government Affairs also include coordination of Liechtenstein's relations with the European Economic Area.
