Liechtenstein is a diversified, high-quality business location.
In particular a broadly diversified economy based on industry, financial services, and high-performance
small and medium-sized businesses with innovative ideas secures jobs, welfare, and a functioning social
net in the long run. The Government therefore strives
to preserve and
further advance the existing competitiveness and diversification of the Liechtenstein economy as well
as the attractiveness of Liechtenstein as an innovation center and the domicile of international companies. For
this purpose, the Government relies on a liberal economic policy derived from the primacy of self-responsibility,
limiting State intervention to what is absolutely necessary. The instruments of liberal economic policy
at the national level are economic promotion through the preservation and creation of attractive economic
and legal structures and parameters, a low density of regulation (including the removal and prevention
of bureaucratic obstacles), and measures against unemployment. Liechtenstein's
economic policy designed according to these principles relies heavily on the smooth functioning of the
country's long tradition of cooperative social partnership. Finally, in the framework of its international
relations, the Government actively represents the interest of Liechtenstein business in non-discriminatory
access to foreign markets. |
