Liechtenstein's permanent population increased by 257 persons (0.7%) in 2015. On 31 December 2015 it had a population of 37,623.
The average age of the permanent population increased in 2014 by 92 days. As of 31 December 2014, the average citizen in Liechtenstein was 41.42 years old. The average age of women living in the Principality was 42.31 years, 1.80 years higher than the average age of men (40.51 years).
In 2011, life expectancy at birth was 84.2 years for women and 79.5 years for men. There were 133 more births than deaths, with the population growing by a total of 363 persons in 2012. The number of persons getting married increased slightly in 2012 from 324 to 348. In 2012, 119 persons resident in Liechtenstein and 55 persons resident outside Liechtenstein received citizenship of the Principaliy of Liechtenstein, an increase of 4 persons compared with the previous year. The 2010 census counted 10,337 buildings and 15,474 households.
