Liechtenstein-produced Alpkäse has secured third place in the Alp Cheese Awards Ceremony at the Olma trade fair for agriculture and nutrition. The winning cheese was Alp Pradamees semi-hard variety.
The cheese from Alp Pradamee is produced above Malbun at between 1,500 and 1,970 metres above sea level. It beat a total of 89 different Alp cheeses that were entered in the category semi-hard cheese, revealed a statement. An Olma statement explained that a jury judged and rated the best cheeses in the five categories of semi-hard, hard, sliced, Mutschli and sheeps/ goats cheese.
Liechtenstein showcased itself as a guest region at the Alp Cheese Awards Ceremony. The presenter, speaking about the particularities of products from the principality of Liechtenstein, was Franky Willinger, president of the Alpgenossenschaft Triesenberg. Also present was government minister Marlies Amann-Marxer, according to the statement.
I would sincerely like to congratulate Alp Pradamee for their outstanding success. Their ranking speaks for the quality of products from our domestic dairy sector, commented Amann-Marxer.
