At the end of the year, U.S. citizen Barbara Milian Thoralfsson will join the Board of Directors of Hilti Corporation as a new member. After 21 years of service Prof. Dr. Giorgio Behr will leave Hiltis Board of Directors at the 2015 Annual General Meeting as a consequence of Hiltis term of office restriction but will retain his position as Trustee of the Martin Hilti Family Trust.
In December 2014, Barbara Milian Thoralfsson, who lives in Norway, will join the Hilti Groups highest-level management body. The 55-year-old, who is of Cuban-American origin, has many years experience of industry and already serves on the boards of Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget (SCA AB), a leading global hygiene and forest products company, and Telenor ASA, a leading international mobile operator with operations in Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and Asia. Over her professional career, Barbara Milian Thoralfsson has held key positions for a number of U.S. as well as European companies. She has CEO and senior level management experience in the telecom and fast moving consumer goods industries and extensive experience as a non-executive director with public and privately held global companies across diverse industries.
After the Annual General Meeting in March 2015, the Board of Directors of Hilti Corporation, under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Pius Baschera (Zurich, CH), will be comprised of the following members: Michael Hilti (Schaan, FL), Barbara Milian Thoralfsson (Oslo, NO), Kim Fausing (Sonderborg, DK), Heinrich Fischer (Rüschlikon, CH), Dr. Michael Jacobi (Binningen, CH) and Dr. Tis Prager (Zumikon, CH).
