The Gault-Millau Restaurant Guide for 2017 highlights three outstanding restaurant establishments from Liechtenstein. Hubertus Real from Park Hotel Sonnenhof is even awarded 17 points.
This gives chef Hubertus Real from the Sonnenhof in Vaduz one more point than in 2016, enabling him to occupy the top spot in Liechtenstein. According to a report by the newspaper Liechtensteiner Vaterland, Real and Ivo Berger from the Torkel in Vaduz were tied still last year. In 2017, Berger is once again awarded 16 points. Ruben A. Brunhart from the restaurant Zentrum in Balzers is now in third place on 13 points, and has managed to retain his score from last year.
According to the platform Gourmoer.ch, the new Gault-Millau guide was presented by the head of Gault-Millau Urs Heller in Küsnacht. For the first time it appears with a yellow cover and features less restaurants than in the previous year. Sixty-six testers present Switzerlands and Liechtensteins 820 best restaurants on 50 pages. As an explanation for the reduction in numbers Urs Heller is quoted as saying that this is a sign of the enormous pressure that the restaurant trade is exposed to.
