The economic benefits of the strategy to promote Liechtenstein as a location, which the government presented in December 2014, have been evaluated. Meanwhile, a new version is putting more emphasis on promoting innovative businesses.
The strategy devised by the Liechtenstein government to promote the country as a location has been evaluated since its conception for value added potential and feasibility, writes newspaper Liechtensteiner Vaterland in an article. The article is based on comments made by Deputy Prime Minister Thomas Zweifelhofer, who commented on progress made in terms of the strategy.
He explained that the new version would include the reforms to ltd. companies. A lower minimum capital requirement is expected to be more interesting for start-up companies and industries, thus benefiting the location. Also planned is a revision of the University of Liechtensteins Business Plan Competition, with the aim of placing more emphasis on promoting innovation. Meanwhile, a task force is to analyse Liechtenstein as a centre for technology, with a focus on Liechtenstein as a data location.
Measures designed to promote exports and imports, as well as cost-covering and cost-cutting measures, are to be reviewed and implemented. In addition, businesses located in Liechtenstein will be given support with residence permits.
