The Austrian company bst Brandschutztechnik Döpfl GmbH has been supplying seals for cable ducts to Hilti since 2011. These seals are deployed in the energy and industrial sectors to protect against water, gas and fire.
Hilti is now acquiring the company, which is headquartered close to Vienna, and its German sales company, according to a statement. bst Brandschutztechnik currently employs 15 people in development, production and sales.
Working with bst Brandschutztechnik, Hilti plans to develop its portfolio of cable duct products. The aim is to offer comprehensive fire protection system solutions for cable ducts.
The direct marketing channels of both companies will be used to tap into new customer segments. Hilti also plans to exploit the marketing structure of the Norwegian company Oglaend System Gruppe, which it acquired last year.
