Between January and April of this year, the sales of the Hilti Group were up 16 per cent year on year to 1,818 billion Swiss francs, the Liechtenstein construction product manufacturer reported in a press release. In local currencies, sales growth in the reporting period amounted to 13 per cent.
In the press release, Hilti attributes the successful start of the current financial year to investments in the product portfolio, direct product sales and a generally positive market environment. “Our positive start confirms that the course we continue to consistently follow is the right one,” commented Hilti’s CEO Christoph Loos. For the year as a whole, the company is expecting double-digit sales growth.
In terms of individual business regions, Hilti above all posted improved sales in Europe for the first quarter, with a year-on-year increase of 23 per cent to 914 million francs. In North and Latin America, sales were up 7 per cent and 5 per cent, respectively, while sales growth for the Asia and the Pacific region amounted to 9 per cent. Sales growth in the Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa region was 16 per cent.
