The Hilti Group increased its sales significantly in the past year, growing from 4.6 billion Swiss francs in 2016 to 5.1 billion francs in 2017. This corresponds to an increase of 10.8 per cent in francs and 9.6 per cent in local currencies.
These figures reflect the broad-based growth of the company, according to a statement from the Schaan-based construction technology group. Sales in Europe were up 9.7 per cent in local currencies, North America grew by 8.5 per cent, Latin America 9.7 per cent, and Asia/Pacific 5.3 per cent. Sales growth in the Eastern Europe/Middle East/Africa region were particularly strong at 17.4 per cent, with Russia leading the way.
“Once again, we have launched more than 60 new products, extended our portfolio significantly and strengthened our global sales team. With this solid foundation firmly in place, we managed to make even better use of last year’s favourable market conditions. It is our intention to maintain this momentum,” said CEO Christoph Loos.
Hilti will publish detailed year-end results in mid-March.
