On the occasion of its 75th anniversary, the construction technology group Hilti pays tribute to its headquarters in Liechtenstein and its tradition of innovation, calling its 75 years of experience in the country its recipe for success.
75 years ago, the brothers Martin and Eugen Hilti began producing engine parts, lighters and kitchen mixers in Schaan, Liechtenstein. With their focus on innovative blot gun technology and direct sales, they soon created the cornerstone of todays global Hilti Group.
The events celebrating the companys anniversary reaffirm the continuity of the groups management. Michael Hilti, the son of the companys founder Martin Hilti, said at an event that the creative restlessness of innovative minds has always and will always be the engine of the company and a driver of innovation for the industry.
According to board member Stefan Nöken, the company is will continue to focus on its Liechtenstein site in the long term. The innovation centre in Schaan, which was opened in 2015, means that we are committed to Liechtenstein as a place of innovation for the next 50 years. Over the past 75 years, professionals here have accumulated a sum of expertise that makes up the heart of the company. Production will continue to be of great important to Liechtenstein and the region.
Going forward, the company will focus strongly on important trends in the construction industry: increasing productivity will be a constant theme in construction and is currently being reinforced through digitalisation and industrialisation. The acquisition of the German PEC Group which was announced just a few days ago can be seen in this light. The move will strengthen Hiltis market position in the fastening solution segment and optimise its access to Asian markets.
