The latest internet service innovation-standort.li provides information on tools and partners that are already existing in Liechtenstein to promote innovation. The website will also document the innovative sector as a whole.
The new internet portal innovation-standort.li is run by the Office of Economic Affairs. According to an media release, it contains all innovation promotion tools that belong to the life cycle of a company from developing new business ideas to financing options. The service is aimed at founders, entrepreneurs and SMEs in the country and is designed to support them in maintaining and increasing their innovative capability and competitiveness. At the same time, documenting the innovation activities will illustrate the countrys appeal.
The service is being offered in the context of a concept from the Ministry for Home Affairs, Justice and Economic Affairs called Innovation Map, which is meant to make existing promotion programmes and initiatives better known. Liechtenstein as a business location is one of the top in the world as it invests 8.4 per cent of its GDP into research and development each year.
A major part of these investments is raised by larger companies, explains the article. The state has long supported innovative activities and start-ups, and private initiatives deal with this subject. As economic affairs minister Thomas Zwiefelhofer says: Innovation doesnt just happen out of the blue. Playing a crucial role in its success is a close-knit, longstanding network of experienced companies, academia, entrepreneurs, investors and authorities.
