Liechtenstein and Switzerland have signed an agreement and joint declaration to further expand their cooperation in the field of education, research and innovation.
Federal president Johann Schneider-Ammann and Hereditary Prince Alois von and zu Liechtenstein agreed on Friday to closer cooperation between Switzerland and Liechtenstein in an effort to promote science-based innovation. Their aim is to help participants from Liechtenstein as well as those from Switzerland work on their projects with those research centres best suited to their project, regardless of in which country they are located.
The services of the Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI) will also be expanded as part of this extended cooperation. In the future, the CTI will receive a fee as the evaluation committee for Liechtenstein-internal expertise and will provide scientific support for projects from Liechtenstein, according to a statement from the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER).
