The topic of sustainability is more urgent than ever, Simon Tribelhorn said in an interview with 'Wirtschaft regional'. Banks in Liechtenstein have been dealing with this issue for a very long time, making “sustainability virtually a part of our DNA in Liechtenstein”, said the director of the Liechtenstein Bankers Association. To this end, the LBA is organizing the international conference “Accepting responsibility and investing sustainably”. Two hundred participants from the financial sector, business, politics and organizations are expected to attend the event on 30 November.
According to Tribelhorn, the conference aims to show that the need for action has now become urgent. At the same time, it aspires to be a platform for information, exchange and the search for potential solutions and opportunities. This also gives the Liechtenstein financial centre the opportunity to make itself better known. “At the end of the day, it wouldn’t do any harm if everyone went home with the idea that Liechtenstein, the local financial centre and the banks are taking on a leadership role when it comes to sustainability and sustainable investment, as well as meeting their responsibilities.”
