An appropriate licence was issued on Monday by the Office of Economic Affairs following several years of planning and implementation, as the operators announced across their social media channels.
According to a report on the Austrian TV channel ORF, the new casino will create 50 new jobs in Ruggell. It is located in the Kokon Center, and has five live game tables and more than 100 games machines with a variety of jackpot systems, reported Radio L.
“The location is perfect. Thanks to our direct access to the motorway, we have a wide-reaching catchment area,” commented Stefan Hassler, president of the administrative board of Casino Admiral AG.
Gambling was banned in Liechtenstein until 2010. At the start of April 2016, laws including the gambling law were amended by the Liechtenstein state parliament (Landtag). These amendments opened up the gambling market to more operators.
