An innovation map of Liechtenstein presents initiatives and instruments that support start-ups and SMEs. Greater coordination will make these even more effective.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs supports location strategy organisations and initiatives that promote entrepreneurship and innovation in the Liechtenstein. This includes state initiatives such as export and innovation grants or Liechtensteins participation in the RyhSearch research centre, as well as private initiatives such as the Idea Channel or the state-sponsored business plan competition at the University of Liechtenstein. Deputy prime minister and minister of economic affairs Thomas Zwiefelhofer, together with the projects sponsors, has committed to further coordination of the activities.
Projects, which have already been successfully underway for a number of years, were reviewed in terms of their goals and even better coordinated, explains a news release from the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Moreover, everything has been set in relation to existing state promotion instruments and presented in an overall view. Thomas Zwiefelhofer said: Proven private instruments such as the Idea Channel or the Liechtenstein Innovation Market (LIM) gladly support the Ministry of Economic Affairs and enable a coordinated approach by the public and private sectors alike. The state contributes to an innovation-friendly climate through accompanying measures such as the emissions of innovation grants.
