The Liechtenstein Hotel and Gastronomy Association (LHGV) has been welcomed as a new member of Hotrec Hospitality Europe, which represents the European hospitality industry. Liechtenstein has also joined the Hotelstars Union (HSU).
Liechtenstein was welcomed as a member during the Hotrec General Assembly in The Hague. Hotrec is a business association that represents the hospitality industry on a European level. LHGV will officially join Hotrec on 9th November, extending the European umbrella associations representation to 43 national associations in 29 different European countries. As quoted in a Hotrec press release, LHGV board member Marcello Scarnato said: We are very pleased to become a member of Hotrec. The hospitality industry is a key sector to our Principality, therefore, joining Hotrec will place us in a better position to represent and defend the interests of our industry.
At the same time as being welcomed as a member of Hotrec, Liechtenstein became the 16th member of Hotelstars Union (HSU). The union, which is under the patronage of Hotrec, works to ensure a unified classification of hotels in Europe.
The Liechtenstein Hotel and Gastronomy Association (LHGV) was founded in 2006 as an independent association to represent the interests of businesspeople in the hotel and gastronomy sector. It currently has 50 members.
