The unemployment rate in Liechtenstein at the end of September was 2.2 per cent, the same as the previous month. A total of 418 registered as unemployed, 17 less than at the end of August.
The unemployment rate also remained unchanged when compared to that of September 2015, when 16 more people than today registered as unemployed, according to a statement on a recent survey conducted by the job agency Arbeitsmarkt Service Liechtenstein (AMS FL).
The unemployment rate among 15 to 24 year-olds fell by 1.4 per cent compared to the previous month and is now at 3.1 per cent. 25 to 49 year-olds were less affected by unemployment than the previous month: month-over-month, the rate sank by 3.4 per cent, and by 6.2 per compared to the previous year, and is now at 228 people. Unemployment also fell among people 50 year-olds and up compared to the previous month: there are now 119 unemployed people in this age category, eight less than in August.
In September, 123 people were employed in temporary jobs, 7.5 per cent less than in the previous month and 5.1 per cent more than in the same month last year. As in August, an enterprise with 15 employees registered due to economic short-term work.
With a total of 776 job vacancies, there were 5.7 per cent fewer vacancies than at the end of August. Nonetheless, this represents a significant jump compared to the previous year when 334 fewer jobs were reported.
