Milchhof AG has received an award label for long-standing product quality from the German Agricultural Society (DLG) for the eighth time. Milk and dairy products from Schaan are regularly inspected by the DLG.
The award label is handed out regularly to promote the continuous pursuit of quality, according to a press release. As DLG explains, the award label is aimed at the food industry in 15 areas: from beer to baked goods through to ice cream or milk and dairy products. Manufacturers must be willing to allow their products to be voluntarily inspected by DLG inspectors.
The criteria for the award label for long-standing product quality are demanding: when at least three distinctions are awarded per award year for five years in a row, then the company is awarded the label after the fifth year. A food manufacturer loses the title if they do not participate one year or fail to achieve enough distinctions. The manufacturer can restart the process the following years, but the distinctions or prizes from previous years are not taken into account.
Of the 138 companies to receive this distinction, Milchhof is the only one from Liechtenstein. Two companies from Switzerland are on the list, both of which have received the award label four times.
