The Frauen entscheiden (Women decide) project aims to help women in Liechtenstein, Vorarlberg and Graubünden to reach management positions. The programme includes workshops, while extensive surveys will also be conducted.
Frauen entscheiden is being sponsored by Interreg, a regional European Union programme to promote cross-border cooperation. Involved in this particular project are Liechtenstein, Austria (state of Vorarlberg) and Switzerland (Canton Graubünden). In these areas, women are underrepresented in senior positions, according to a press release from the Liechtensteiner Stabsstelle für Chancengleichheit (SCG), which promotes equality. As such, the project aims to encourage women by raising awareness.
Among the events taking place are courses for media representatives on avoiding gender stereotypes. Meanwhile, data will be gathered in the coming months to compare countries on their representation of men and women in the media, as well as in management. Another part of the programme are short courses designed to encourage women including the younger generation to get involved in politics. An international expert symposium is scheduled for spring 2017, according to the press release. The project is expected to come to a close in December 2017.
