In 2016, more students than ever before enrolled at the University of Liechtenstein: 283 new students have registered for one of the universitys affiliated programmes of study. Architecture is an especially popular field of study.
According to a statement from the University of Liechtenstein, the current winter semester has broken an enrolment record: never before have so many been interested in enrolling in one of the schools so-called consecutive programmes of study.
As Rector Klaus Näscher said: We are seeing an all-time high of first semester students who began their studies this week. One of the reasons is the universitys reputation as a so-called personal university. Vaduz has also been intensively recommended in various networks.
The number of applications for a consecutive programme of study has increased significantly in the past three years: in 2014 it was 547, in 2015 it was already 710, and in 2016 it is now 766 applications. New registrations also rose, from 196 in 2014 to 283 today. Of those new registrations, 232 of them come from the European Economic Area and Switzerland.
The Bachelors degree in architecture experienced the largest increase: in 2014 it welcomed 30 new students and in this winter semester 52. The university indicated that it is now reaching its capacity here in terms of space and human resources. But overall, nearly all the programmes of study could keep up with or even improve their registration numbers.
