The Austrian crystal producer Swarovski’s Triesen location is important for the company worldwide.
It assumes global responsibility for the entire supply chain, including production plants in Thailand, Vietnam and China. Around 500 people work at the location. They are responsible for almost 100,000 colleagues worldwide.
Now, Swarovski is to invest more than 20 million euros in a global planning project and the modernization of the Triesen Logistics Service Center in the next three years, according to an article in newspaper “Liechtensteiner Vaterland”.
However, 25 jobs will be lost at the Triesen site this year, it adds. Swarovski plans to create a new streamlined structure worldwide, reducing jobs not only in Triesen, but also globally on a management level.
“For transparency and in keeping with our corporate values, we informed our employees yesterday afternoon about the next steps to be taken in 2018 in the implementation of our future structure here,” commented Joachim Schück, Managing Director of Swarovski AG in Triesen, in the article.
He added: “We will use Swarovski’s global network and invest in the sustainable existence of the location.”
