Liechtenstein intends to further develop the mountain region with a new strategy. According to the government, there have only been selective strategies for the mountain region since construction of the new cableways. This is now set to change.
The Ministry of Infrastructure, Economy and Sport has tasked Liechtenstein Marketing with organizing and coordinating the strategy process, and the two are now inviting guests to a week of various discussion rounds in October in Malbun. For instance, the municipalities of Vaduz and Triesenberg, Triesenberg-Malbun-Steg Tourism, Stiftung Lebendiges Malbun and Bergbahnen Malbun, as well as tourist service providers and sports associations will discuss new opportunities in the mountain region.
Back in November 2016, a simulation with various service providers on destination management was held as a result of an initiative of the foundation to promote a vibrant Malbun. The findings will be incorporated into the new strategy.
“We would like to make the most use of the existing potential in Liechtenstein’s mountain region. This requires a clear strategy supported by all,” said Deputy Prime Minister Daniel Risch.
