According to figures from the Office for Statistics, the average number of people without work in Liechtenstein was 369 in 2017. In the previous year, there had been 446 registered unemployed. The unemployment rate has therefore dropped to 1.9 per cent.
Broken down by age groups, unemployment was highest among those aged 15 to 24, at 2.6 per cent, which is a slight increase on the previous year. The unemployment rate is 1.9 per cent for the age group between 25 and 49 years and 1.6 per cent for the over 50s. In the latter two groups, a year-on-year decline in unemployment was recorded.
In 2017, a further 548 job seekers registered, on average, down on the previous year by 81, or 12.9 per cent.
