According to the Arbeitsmarkt Service Liechtenstein (AMS FL), a total of 307 people were registered as unemployed at the end of October, 12 people less than in September. With 1.6 per cent, the unemployment rate remained the same as it was in September. Compared to October 2016, the unemployment rate decreased by 0.5 percentage points or 107 people.
The number of unemployed youth between the ages of 15 to 24 fell by 52 people since September. Compared to the same month last year, there were 23 fewer people registered as unemployed in that age group. This corresponds to a drop of 0.9 percentage points to 2.4 per cent.
The unemployment rate among 25 to 49-year-olds was 1.6 per cent, the same as the general national average. 167 people were registered as unemployed at the end of October in this age group, eight less than the previous month and 58 less than October 2016.
In the 50+ age group, the unemployment rate was slightly below the general national average at 1.4 per cent. The number of unemployed people fell by 5 from the previous month to reach 88 people. Compared to October 2016, there were 26 fewer unemployed people in this group.
There were 843 registered vacancies in October, according to AMS FL. Short-term positions due to economic demand or weather conditions were not registered for that month.
