According to the Arbeitsmarkt Service Liechtenstein (AMS FL), a total of 343 people were registered as unemployed in Liechtenstein at the end of December. This represents a decrease of 63 people or 0.3 percentage points less than December 2016. Compared to the previous month, the unemployment rate rose slightly from 1.7 per cent to 1.8 per cent, corresponding to an increase of 20 more unemployed people in December.
The rate of unemployed youth between the ages of 15 to 24 was 2.7 per cent in December 2017. Compared to the same month in the previous year, this represents an increase of 6 people (+11.1 per cent) but a decrease of 2 people (-3.2 per cent) since November 2017.
There were 831 registered vacancies in December 2017, according to AMS FL. Compared to the same month in the previous year, this was an increase of 37 jobs (+4.7 per cent), and 98 more jobs (+13.4 per cent) than November.
