At the end of July, 331 people were registered as unemployed in Liechtenstein, according to a statement from the Unemployment Service Liechtenstein (AMS FL). Compared to June, this equates to an increase of 44 people, but year-on-year, only five. The unemployment rate rose by 0.2 percentage points over June to 1.7 per cent but remained stable in the annual comparison.
Youth unemployment was up by four people in July to a total of 39, which is a decrease of four people compared to July 2017. Year-on-year, the youth unemployment rate fell by 0.2 percentage points to 1.8 per cent. Among 25 to 49-year-olds, 191 people were registered as unemployed in July – 26 more than in the previous month. In the 50-plus age group, 14 more people were unemployed, bringing the total to 101.
The number of vacancies registered with the AMS FL was down slightly by 145 to 972 month-by-month. No short-time working was caused in July by economic or meteorological factors, according to the AMS FL.
