The University of Liechtenstein will install a photovoltaic facility on the campus in cooperation with the municipality of Vaduz. The facility is based on a student project.
The Vaduz municipal council has now voted in favour of implementing the photovoltaic facility, which the University of Liechtenstein says will make a decisive contribution to achieving the energy targets of Vaduz. The project, which is called Go Solar Uni.li, was developed on the basis of a design by two Mexican architecture students and has reached an advance status as part of a Masters studio with a focus on sustainable energy supply.
The photovoltaic project will represent a milestone with respect to the energy targets of Vaduz. The government of Liechtenstein set the basis for this with its Energy Strategy 2020. Vaduz itself has been an Energy City since 2009 and acheived re-certification in 2013.
