The new internet platform mychoice.li gives youth an insight into the different possible apprenticeships via short video clips. The project is currently in the test phase.
The new website mychoice.li regards itself as an online apprenticeship platform that helps would-be apprentices and their parents learn more about the employment market in Liechtenstein. The projects initiators Florian Büchel, Kevin Frick and Kevin Gabathuler hope to accomplish this by using videos that present the various possible apprenticeships.
According to an article in the Liechtensteiner Vaterland, the website is in the test phase until the end of September. In the future, all types of apprenticeships available in the region will be presented on the website, though the initiators are quick to point out that it will never replace a on-site, trial apprenticeship as this is needed by both schools and vocational institutes or companies to conduct a needs analysis.
The project was immensely popular during the online voting held in the scope of the Idea-Channel Initiative in February 2015 and received over CHF 5,000 in donations. Although the project is supported by the respective professional associations and/or sections, the website should not be an advertising platform for companies but should instead focus on presenting the different occupations, said Büchel, Frick and Gabathuler.
