In September 2017, the Liechtenstein Bankers Association (LBV) opened the Villa Wirbelwind crèche, which currently cares for around 25 children of employees from different banks. Parents can choose from different childcare models and the banks assume roughly half of the costs for the childcare.
As reported in a press release, Villa Wirbelwind has now been honoured with the European Association Award (EAA) at the ceremony in Brussels. It was crowned the winner in the category of “Best Membership Initiative”. The EAA rewards outstanding measures and projects by European associations from very different industries.
The EAA jury’s comment is shared in the press release: “Villa Wirbelwind is an excellent and very innovative project that provides an immediate benefit. It offers a win-win situation for the region, employees, children and the banks.”
According to Simon Tribelhorn, LBV director, Villa Wirbelwind in a unique way symbolises what the Liechtenstein banking centre stands for, namely sustainability, quality and public spirit. “It likewise shows the banks’ clear support for the location of Liechtenstein.”
