Bäckerei Konditorei Confiserie Wanger AG was able to beat the recycling centre Elkuch Josef AG and Listemann Technology AG to win in the SME of the Year category. For Newcomer of the Year, b_smart hotel won out over the other finalists in the category, namely gourmet coffee roasting company Demmel AG and fruit powder manufacturer frooggies AG. The winners were selected by a jury together with a live audience vote at the Liechtenstein Trade and Industry Fair (LIHGA) in Schaan on Tuesday.
All the companies that made it to the final “were innovative, had high growth potential – and regarded as exceptional”, said jury president Urs Müller, Head of Retail & Corporate Banking at LLB, in the press release from the Liechtensteinische Landesbank. The Bäckerei Wanger bakery has received prize money of 15,000 Swiss francs, while b_smart hotel will receive valuable coaching tailored to its needs worth 5,000 francs.
“With the LLB SME Award, we want to strengthen the workplace as an economic driver by honouring outstanding companies every two years at the Liechtenstein Trade and Industry Fair LIHGA in Schaan,” said jury president Urs Müller about the aim of the competition, for which LLB joins forces with the Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce. “With these awards, LLB and the Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce are offering well-deserved centre stage to companies that are focused on the future and their customers,” said jury vice-president and President of the Chamber of Commerce, Rainer Ritter.
