The Liechtenstein team is coming home with gold and bronze medals from the 43rd WorldSkills competition in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Nine professionals from Liechtenstein took part in the international vocational education and skills competition.
Plasterer and drywaller Lukas Beck from Triesenberg won gold, and wall and floor tiler Luca Vogt won bronze, reports the Liechtenstein newspaper Vaterland on the official WorldSkills results. The medals were awarded to the winners late on Sunday after the four-day event. The team made a huge overall effort at the competition, according to the article. Team leader Giorgio Di Benedetto praised his protégés on the Liechtensteins WorldSkills website: Each candidate gave their all over the four-day event.
The young professionals showcased their professional skills at the largest professional world championships to date. A total of 1,189 participants from 59 countries competed in 50 disciplines. Nine professionals came from Liechtenstein.
