A delegation from the Liechtenstein finance industry has taken part in the Singapore Fintech Festival. The delegates met with representatives from the local finance sector and visited both VP Bank Singapore and LGT Singapore.
The Singapore Fintech Festival has become a meeting point for financial innovation stakeholders. In mid-November, delegates from more than 100 countries met in person again for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic. The Liechtenstein finance industry sent a delegation made up of representatives from the government, the Financial Market Authority Liechtenstein (FMA) and the Liechtenstein Bankers Association (LBA), in addition to VP Bank and LGT, to participate in the Singapore Fintech Festival.
According to a joint press release, the delegation also met Sopnendu Mohanty, Chief Fintech Officer for the Monetary Authority Singapore. He was particularly interested in the possibilities of a cooperation in the area of blockchain. The itinerary also included visits to both VP Bank Singapore and LGT Singapore, in addition to the Raffles Family Office.
The issue of sustainability played a key role during the visit. For example, the delegation held discussions with representatives from the National University of Singapore and the Centre for Sustainable Finance on the subject of the region’s sustainable financial market. The delegation also paid a visit to Sustenir, a company that develops vertical farms in urban buildings.
Attention will now turn to the planned visit of a Singaporean delegation to Liechtenstein in spring next year.
