Hilti and the International Institute of Management Development (IMD) are setting up a joint scholarship program for the latter’s Master of Business Administration course. To this end, the Liechtenstein-based tool manufacturer and the Hilti Family Foundation Liechtenstein are committing a total of 3 million Swiss francs.
The Hilti Group, which is headquartered in Schaan, Liechtenstein, and the International Institute of Management Development (IMD) based in Lausanne in the canton of Vaud, are launching a joint scholarship program for those interested in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) course offered by the IMD. To this end, the business school and the tool manufacturer have established a fund, namely the MBA Scholars Program Fund, with a volume of 3 million Swiss francs overall. According to a press release, the money is being provided by Hilti and the Hilti Family Foundation Liechtenstein.
The money is to be paid out to students across a period of ten years. This corresponds to a sum of 300,000 Swiss francs per annum. By covering half of the costs of the tuition fees, Hilti will be in a position to support 60 MBA students overall.
The program is aimed at prospective students worldwide who have experience in the fields of science, technology, engineering, technology (STEM) and are keen to take on a management role in a STEM profession after completing their studies. “A competitive MBA scholarship program aims to support the best MBA candidates from around the world”, explains Jahangir Doongaji, CEO at Hilti, in the press release.
With the new Hilti IMD MBA Scholars scholarship program, Hilti and the independent university institute IMD are expanding their decades-long partnership. Many of the MBA graduates from IMD were and remain employed by Hilti in consulting roles, having joined the firm after graduating.
