Double-digit growth for Hilti

25 January 2023

In 2022, Hilti increased sales by 10 percent in local currencies to around 6.3 billion Swiss francs. The strongest sales growth was recorded by the Americas region.

The Hilti Group generated sales of 6.35 billion francs in the 2022 financial year. When compared with the previous year, this equates to growth of 10.0 percent in local currencies, as the global tool manufacturer from Schaan reported in a press release. In the reporting currency of Swiss franc, growth was 6.2 percent.

“The last four months of the 2022 business year remained challenging, but we could nonetheless accelerate growth and were thus able to close the year with double-digit growth in local currencies,” said CEO Jahangir Doongaji. “The launch of our new Nuron battery platform in North America and Europe was one important growth driver.”

The strongest sales growth of 20.6 percent in francs was recorded by the Americas region, where sales amounted to 1.84 billion francs. Sales in the key market of Europe increased by 2.3 percent on the previous year to reach 3.20 billion francs. The Asia/Pacific region reported growth of 4.2 percent to 763 million francs. Sales declined by 542 million francs in the Eastern Europe/Middle East/Africa region, so were 8.4 percent weaker than in 2021. Hilti puts this down to the war in Ukraine and the corresponding sanctions against Russia.

For the current financial year, Hilti expects high single-digit growth, in local currencies. The company will publish its detailed Company Report 2022 on 17 March 2023.
